Originally from Melbourne, Luke moved to Tasmania in 2004 after becoming enchanted with visiting and photographing Tasmania’s wild places. After arriving in Hobart, Luke quite quickly developed a presence at Hobart’s popular 'Salamanca Market' and in 2009, opened a photography gallery in central Hobart which he ran for 4 years.

Over the years, Luke’s images have been used in publications such as the 'Australian Geographic', the 'Aurora Chasers Handbook', 'Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife' publications and an 'Australia Post' stamp. Luke has also featured in TV segments such as an ABC '7:30' Aurora Chasers special and on Channel 10’s 'The Living Room'.

These days, Luke can still be found at Salamanca Market most Saturdays, and runs a range of popular photography workshops all over Tasmania. Click here to find out more about Luke and his work.

As this package has been specially put together and has very limited spaces, we ask for 50% deposit paid at time of booking and the final settlement be paid 14 days before the commencement of the workshop.

Cradle Mountain Hotel reserves the right to forfeit the full amount paid, if the cancelation is made within 14 days of the commencement of the workshop.

While we are confident that the workshop will be a sell-out, a certain number of attendees are required for it go ahead. In the unlikely event that we don’t fill this capacity, you will be contacted immediately and provided with a full refund.

We are more than happy to include additional nights in your package should you want to explore the park and its spectacular setting. If you do wish to stay an additional night or two, please be sure to let us know.

To offer you the best experience during this stay, you will be staying a Deluxe room which has a two double sized bed configuration.

This package includes everything you need during your stay. However it does not include additional items such as mini bar, additional meals, all beverages, personal excursions and any other personal expenses you may incur during your stay.

Along with your eye for detail, bring some warm clothes, comfortable hiking boots and waterproof jacket for our outdoor and night sky walks. Equipment is not included so you will need to bring your own camera and memory cards. If you have additional lenses and/or a tripod, please bring them along. All indoor areas are well heated and cosy so don’t forget to pack something light. A journal (to make notes) a water bottle, sunscreen and sunglasses are also recommended.
