Yes, Cradle Mountain offers a 25% accommodation discount to all RACT members and a 15% discount to interstate and international auto club members. This discount is also offered at Strahan Village, Freycinet Lodge and the RACT/RACV Hobart Apartment Hotel.
You will be required to display your membership card on check in. The name on the reservation must match the name on the membership. You can book up to 5 rooms per reservation with your RACT membership.
We will work with each guest on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss your booking.
We do not require payment at the time of booking for any accommodation reservations. Payment is required upon check-in at the hotel. We do however ask for your credit card details at the time of booking to secure your reservation. Please ensure you are familiar with our cancellation policy.
Our room rates cater for up to two adults per room, per night. Any additional adults staying in the room will incur a $40 charge per night. Children under the age of 14 will not incur any charge.
After selecting your dates of stay, you will see a button towards the top of the page that says ‘add more rooms to booking’. Simply click on this and then select ‘add room’. The system will then prompt you to select the dates of stay and room type. You can navigate between rooms by selecting ‘manage rooms’ near the top left of the page.
A number of Standard Rooms have interconnecting doors. This means that we can provide families or small groups with two conjoined rooms, both with a queen bed, a single bed and an ensuite bathroom. Rollaway beds can also be placed in these rooms for an additional charge of $40 per night.

We strongly suggest making a reservation at Altitude Restaurant to avoid disappointment. This can be made at the hotel's reception, either on arrival or over the phone in advance.

Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar is open for all-day dining and we welcome day visitors to call in and enjoy our beautiful location for breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks in-between.
Yes, all rooms at Cradle Mountain Hotel have hairdryers for guests.
Yes, all rooms have a minibar.
Our rooms have tea and coffee making facilities but not kitchen facilities. All rooms have a small bar fridge inside. Multiple dining options are available via Altitude Restaurant + Lounge Bar as well as an in-room menu.
We have coin operated washing machines and dryers located next to reception. The machines accept $1 and $2 coins.Washing powder can also be purchased from reception.
Free parking is available to all visitors to Cradle Mountain Hotel and the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.
We have a Tesla charging station at Cradle Mountain Hotel. If you're driving west, there is also a station at Strahan Village and on the east coast, Freycinet Lodge offers the same service.
Allow 2.5 hours from Launceston, 4.5 hours from Hobart and 1.5 hours from Devonport. These times allow for a rest or photograph stop along the way!
You can drive right to our hotel door. There are perhaps only a few of days a year in which the weather makes this a touch more difficult! You do not need a 4X4 vehicle to visit, two-wheel drive vehicles are perfectly suitable. We do however recommend that you always drive to the conditions and monitor the Tasmanian Community Alerts Page should you be concerned about the weather conditions.
3718 Cradle Mountain Road, Cradle Mountain, 7306. Please note that GPS navigation will sometimes recommend the most direct route, however this doesn't always place you on the most suitable road. It pays to seek local advice if you are unsure.
A shuttle bus service runs directly from the Visitor Centre and the National Park only.
Private cars are unable to access the park during shuttle bus hours which are between 8 am and 5 pm. A recommended and reliable alternative is to park your vehicle at the National Park Visitor Centre and use the shuttle bus.
A valid National Parks pass is required to enter the Cradle Mountain - Lake St. Clair National Park and is available for purchase at hotel reception. You do not need a park pass to simply access the hotel.
Cradle Mountain Hotel offers free WiFi to all visitors and guests. Note that due to our regional and alpine location, download speeds may vary.
It's an alpine climate in our area, meaning you may experience cold temperatures and possibly snow in any month of the year. Watch the forecast and plan to travel with warmer clothes such as a beanie and a jacket, especially if you are considering night activities such as a wildlife tour.
There is a $5 per person or $10 per family charge to enter the gallery which helps us maintain these spaces and continue to support Tasmanian artists through our residency and exhibition programs. Entry is complimentary for guests of Cradle Mountain Hotel as well as Altitude Restaurant and Elements Café diners.
Only Telstra's and Optus network works at Cradle Mountain. Please note there are numerous 'black spots' due to the local terrain. Phone service via the Telstra network is generally not an issue at the hotel.
